Introduce the participants to the reality of the collision problem among young adults and change their past negative driving habits through an understanding of how their attitude toward the driving environment, responsibility and choice, stress, and obedience of the traffic laws all play a part in their driving behavior.
Traffic collisions are the leading cause of death among drivers 16 to 25 years of age. The fatality rate for drivers 16 to 25 years old is four (4) times that of drivers age 25 to 69. In their first year as drivers, young adults are almost ten (10) times more likely to be in a crash than any other driver. The S.N.A.P. Program is designed as a young adult violator program. The program may not be taken over the internet or by using a video. Interaction with the program facilitator is essential to convince these young adult drivers the necessity of being responsible and safe motor vehicle operators. The S.N.A.P. Program changes lives through an understanding of
Values + Attitudes = Behavior and provides a means whereby the young adult violator can acquire a Safe New Attitude towards their driving behavior(s).
